This multipurpose indoor arena is designed as a sports centre and venue for functions such as concerts, expositions, gatherings and conferences. Its sleek façade and broad vaulted roof characterise its universal appeal.
Axiata Arena which was previously known as Putra Stadium was the venue for the gymnastic events during the Kuala Lumpur '98 - XVI Commonwealth Games.
The stadium can accommodate 16,000 spectators on 13,000 upholstered permanent seats and 3,000 retractable seats. More seats can be placed in the arena for concert and other entertainment events bringing the total seating capacity in excess of 16,000.
The rectangular indoor arena is built like a black box where no light can penetrate allowing shows and events to be held during the day. The arena size is 69m x 35m.
A four-sided, full colour video Samsung 4k UHD LED scoreboard provides fast action video displays and event information. At hand is an advanced two sound system with 103dB power and a pre-programmed floodlighting system in the arena providing more than 2,000 lux power made for live and record HD telecast.
